Foundation

Students will continue to practise:

Years 1 & 2

Students will be using code.org to learn about algorithms and programs.

Assessment points for this term are:

They will be assessed on how they complete the lessons within coding.org

Years Foundation-6

All students from Foundation to Year 6 have been completing touch typing lessons in the program we use here at school. Foundation and Year 1 are completing tasks to identify the letters on the keyboard. Years 2-6’s have been practising improving their speed and accuracy by properly placing their fingers on the keyboard so they are using certain fingers to reach and type the correct letters. If you would like to support this, I would recommend finding a free touch-typing program on the internet and downloading it on to your devices at home.

Year 3

During this term, Year 3’s will be exploring the use of ‘Word’ documents. They will be expected to insert tables, pictures and other information from the internet.

Year 4

Students are extending their knowledge of how to use PowerPoint. They are learning how to use hyperlinks from within the text, from other files and from the internet.

Grade 5

For this term, the Grade 5’s are creating their own “Prezi” account. They will be using these accounts to create a presentation about “Light” which is their second science topic this term.

The students were given two copies of the Rubric Assessment for ICT. One, they glued into their ICT scrap books and the other, to use as a reference at home.

Grade 6

Year 6 will be creating a basic website this term.

Their assessment will consist of 2 parts;

  1. The tuning in activity which they were given in week 1 and they complete in their own time, research and recording of their references during the term.
  2. The end of the term test which will cover the content/skills they are taught in class throughout the term.
